Memento Mori

It has been exactly one year since the end of Unus Annus, and it has been quite the year. It is fitting in a way that it falls on a day that I would normally sit down to write my post. It hasn’t quite been a year for me yet but this has caused me to look back and reflect. It has been twelve months since I first had the idea to create this blog. It didn’t become exactly what I wanted it to be but I think it became exactly what I needed it to be. It has been three hundred and sixty five days since I made the commitment to myself that I was going to change the way I live my life. I think it is time I take a moment to reflect on the time that has passed and what I have been able to make of this year.

Electronic Leash

I have recently gotten very into "Adam Ruins Everything." I have been watching all the shorts available on YouTube while I am trying to get other work done. It's a really great show and it has caused me to reflect a lot more on the world around me but that is a topic for another post. What makes you, you?

I can't believe a YouTube channel that only lasted a year has led me down this incredible path. Sometimes life doesn't turn out the way you are expecting. Some days you wake up and the universe just says no to your plans. There is nothing you can really do about that and I am beginning to learn you need to just roll with the punches.

Culinary Adventure

Animals kept for food production purposes are a large source of CO2 emission that contribute to climate change, especially due to the large scale distribution and packaging that is involved. I have been trying to reduce my consumption of animal based products to help reduce my carbon footprint as well as trying to source more food products locally. This also has the added benefit of helping reduce the demand for factory farming and will hopefully help lead to change in the farming industry in regards to animal welfare and help smaller family run farms.
